Update

Hey there! I haven't posted in a good while, so I thought I would update you on the latest baby events. To start, I am now in my third trimester. Wow! That's really hard to believe. Time is flying by and there is still so much to do. Grayson is growing like crazy and making things a little less comfortable for me. No big deal though - I thoroughly enjoy feeling and watching him move around in my belly. He is so active and that makes it fun. I'm getting to the point now where I can't bend over as easily to pick things up and Josh has to help me up from the couch. It's pretty humerous!

I had a doctor's appointment this past Wednesday. Since I am in my third trimester it was time for me to get a routine diabetes test. My doctor does this for all her patients once they hit their third trimester just to make sure that everything is okay. So all I had to do was drink some nasty liquid and get some blood work done. The results haven't come back yet, but we will probably hear something in the next few days. I will keep you updated on the results.

Last weekend Josh and I had our first baby shower, given by the church. It was so wonderful. We are really blessed to be a part of such a great church. As usual, they went above and beyond and Grayson received a ton of clothes and toys (to name a few). We were also blessed enough to receive our nursery furniture (which we are so excited about!!). So we have ordered that and once it comes in we will officially be able to decorate the nursery. Now the fun begins! :)

We have also decided on the photographer who will take Grayson's newborn pictures. I'm most excited about the fact that we found someone who is affordable. Plus, her website if full of cute baby pictures. I think they are going to turn out just great! Other than that, Josh and I have just been reading up on parenting books and trying to prepare/educate ourselves on what to expect when our little one arrives.

ALSO -I know that I have not posted any belly pictures lately-but, I plan on taking some tonight and putting them up over the weekend. It is quite a bit different from the last time I put them up. :)

Crescent Zucchini Pie

Here is a very tasty and easy meal you can whip up in no time (about 25 minutes)!!

Ingredients:
1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
4 cups sliced zucchini
1 cup chopped onion
6 tablespoons butter, cubed
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

Directions:
Separate crescent dough into eight triangles and place in a greased 9-in. deep-dish pie plate with points toward the center. Press dough onto the bottom and up the sides of plate to form a crust; seal seams. Spread with mustard.
In a large skillet, saute zucchini and onion in butter until tender. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, cheeses, seasonings and zucchini mixture. Pour into crust.
Bake at 375° for 20-25 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cover edges loosely with foil if crust browns too quickly. Yield: 6 servings.

Enjoy!

Doctor's Appt

Last Thursday I had a doctor's appointment with my OB. It was a very simple and quick check-up! Just a quick run-down: They measured and listened to Grayson and everything looked and sounded great! And I had the opportunity to ask a bunch of questions about some things that I had been curious about. All in all it was a good visit. Next time I go, my doctor will do a routine testing for gestational diabetes to make sure everything is kosher. I will keep you informed.

I am about 2 weeks from my third trimester (already!). With that being said Josh and I have now scheduled the birthing, breast-feeding, car seat safety, and infant CPR classes that most doctors recommend you take during this period of your pregnancy. It should be interesting!!

Don't let this deal pass you by....

Walgreens is having a great Kellogg's cereal sale this week. If you hurry there still might be some left. I went last night and to my surprise there was still quite a bit. The sale is 4 boxes for $10.00 with $5 in Register Rewards, making it it 4/$5. Plus is you print out these coupons, they will help make it an even better deal.
This is what I did to make the deal work for us:

Original Price: $4.99 a box
Sale price: 4/$10 with $5 RR's
Coupon: Used 1/$1.50 off three boxes of Special K products BUT you can also use $3.00 off 5 boxes of Special K products the only problem is you will have to pay more for your 5th box of cereal because the deal is only for 4 boxes.
Note: I chose to buy 3 boxes of Special K and 1 box of Kellogg's Raisin bran Crunch (Josh's favorite) and I used the coupon for $1.50 off 3 but still got my 4th box for $1.25.
Final Price: $0.87 a box
Total Savings: $16.46
