More sewing projects and crafts

My last post I blogged about the lavender  heat pack that I made. I ended up making that one for a good friend and I liked hers so much that I made one for myself.

This was another easy project that I made for G. We are having VBS at church this week and I was in charge of crafts. We are doing a superhero theme so I made some capes for my group out of old T-shirts. I had a lot of left over scrapes so I decided to make G a cape. I used my Cricut machine to cut out the blast symbol and the letter 'G', then I just sewed them on.

Sewing Project

Lately, I have taken a new interest in holistic medicine and natural remedies. It's been fun to explore new options and see how more natural things, like essentials oils, fresh herbs, and plants can cure even my sleeping issues. I'm not going 'hippie' on all of you, but I am willing to take on that nickname in order to find some more natural ways to care for my family! So most people know that lavender is a natural relaxant or calming oil/flower that can help with sleep. It's because of this that I created my next sewing project. I made a heat pack, packed with rice that I soaked in lavender essential oils (15 drops), and added some dried lavender petals for extra kicks! So you can use it on any part of your body and it also doubles as a way to help you relax!

Here's some pictures of my project below

Here's the finished product! You heat 2-3 minutes in the microwave and you're good to go!

I love being able to sew and create anything I want!!!

Family Vacation in California

A few weeks ago Grayson and I got the chance to meet up with daddy in California. Josh was there a few days prior to us visiting, on business, so we decided to make a vacation out of it. We were actually able to do a lot while we were out there. Grayson had a blast going to the beach, downtown Disney, shopping (not so much on this one), Discovery Cube museum, Pretend City and swimming! Despite everything we did we also got to relax a ton and enjoy some family time!
Here's some pictures -- Get ready, there's a lot of them. Enjoy!
