Red Raider Game Day

While Grayson is not even 2 yet he is by far one the biggest fans that Texas Tech has. He asks us to read his Texas Tech books about 100 times a day and anytime he sees the double T sign he gets his 'guns up'. So today we took him to Raider Alley before the big game so that he could see all the cool stuff. He had a blast this morning and is now fast asleep as I write this! (our plan worked!)

Will Rogers on his horse Soapsuds. The Saddle Tramps always wrap the statue before a home game.

New Orleans

A wedding celebration down the streets ...this is outside the window of the restaurant that we are           eating at

                                                                     Oysters first.....

Then a cheese platter

Coffee and beignets and then we hit the gym....so counterproductive!

This probably doesn't interest a lot of people but Josh and I found a gym called The New Orleans Athletic Club and we visited it while we there. It was started in the late 1800's and they have kept its original character this whole time. The facility was amazing.

These were the original weights that they used to use and now are on display

Back then, apparently they had pubs in gyms.... Who knew!?

On the streets of New Orleans

Revolution Restaurant - the best meal we've ever eaten

Freshly carved prosciutto from Spain and cured for a year and a half

Frog legs stuffed with a crab meat mixture served in an heirloom aioli

At the Expo table

Josh had seared scallops with foie gras (duck liver)

My dinner was a sheep ricotta noochi with lobster...melt in your mouth good!

A deconstructed ice cream sundae with banana ice cream & chocolate beignets for dessert...so delicious

At the end of the meal it's standard that the pastry chef gives you tastes of her 'picks' for the night. These were an assortment of truffles and cookies.

Enjoying the whole experience

At Cafe Du Monde once again!

This building, now a restaurant, was once the building where the slave exchange took place.
